Karl Horak 10/23/2019 2:54 PMA fragrant day in the backyard herb garden cutting back basil for pesto before the next freeze. Cleaned up the mint, oregano, fennel, dill, and garlic chives Transplanted my bonsai Wisteria into a new and smaller training pot. -

Karl Horak 10/21/2019 3:18 PMSpent the morning in the Cottonwood Gallery collecting phenology data for our Nature's Notebook citizen-scientist project. The cottonwoods are changing color and should improve through the week. On Friday we hope to get some aerial video taken with a drone flying through the canopy. -
Karl Horak 10/21/2019 3:15 PMWent up to Corkin's Lodge in the shadow of the magnificent Brazos Cliffs for my nephew's wedding. Fortunately, the strong winds bracketed the ceremony and Saturday was perfect for the couple. -

Karl Horak 10/16/2019 2:46 PMGave a tour of the Botanic Garden to a group of Horticulture Volunteer candidates. A perfect day to stroll through the garden. I'm always impressed with the Hort. Volunteers; they work so hard to make the Botanic Garden the beautiful place that it is. Without them, we docents wouldn't have the garden for our educational efforts.
