BACK TO TEAM PAGE

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Whole Foods Diet
Michael Pollan states that “it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor.” What are your thoughts on this idea?

The food we put in determines our health. I guess this means pay more for organic?

My  neighborhood has under gone a huge revitalization in the 16 years I have lived there. With that revitalization came a lot of new neighbors. This garage sale gave me the opportunity to met people new to the neighborhood.

Watched "The Game Changers" on Netflix last night with my SO. After 8 years, I think I (okay, the documentary!) FINALLY convinced him to go vegan! Highly informative without being judgmental. Check it out!

Agree!  So good!  Congratulations on convincing your husband.  I'm still waiting for mine to watch the show.

I was pretty crabby this morning so I disconnected from electronics and spent 4 hours in my vegetable garden. What a difference plants and sunshine can make to your mental health!

Gardening is a great mood booster! Sometimes I love pulling weeds just for that purpose.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Limit Social Media
Social media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also take more time than we realize or intend to give. After doing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?

Though social media helps me stay connected to family and friends, I feel a little calmer with a reduction in my social media time. My evenings have a bit more breathing room.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Reduce refined sugar
Before you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now?

No, as I have reduced my sugar intake. It has served to increase my awareness though.

I am getting my Masters online and I love how all of the materials are electronic so no books and no paper waste!

I drive a 2003 toyota camry with 220,000 miles... Boy oh boy do I WANT a new vehicle.  My husband and I did some major reflecting on my "Need vs. Want" for a new vehicle.  We decided to get new tires on the car and keep her.  Now we have our fingers crossed she makes it to 300,000 miles.

300,000 would be a huge milestone! Needs vs. Wants can be so tricky when we're told via advertising, social media, etc. that ditching the old for something new and shiney will make us happier. Kudos to you for resisting!

I had a birthday party yesterday for my daughter. I tried to choose as many Earth friendly options as possible but there was still a lot of waste. I am going to brainstorm ideas so that next year we will be sending less to the landfill.
