I find being sustainable difficult in this time as if you want to support a local business you have to get takeout and get more trash or plastic. It has been a difficult decision to make.

    Nature Practice Gratitude for Earth
Kathleen Dean Moore says that a sense of gratitude leads to a sense of moral obligation. Do you agree? How do we cultivate a sense of gratitude as individuals, and as a society?

Yes I do. In some cultures they practice those as an individual and as an society by assigning a particular day in a year for that animal, plant or a person. For example in India they have a day for Oxen. In old days all the farming was done with the help of a bull/ox. So one day a year people ate food that was hand grown, where no bulls were used. This leads to people appreciating the work ox do.
Some of the old cultures have similar things as a part of religion so people will follow it.
Now a days the earth day is celebrated with similar idea.

It allows for people to take back control and power over the food that was taken away from them. It allows for people to become healthy and not have to rely on highly processed food or some big company to give them food grown miles away.

I was not able to sign up for my utility company's clean/renewable energy option. My landlord told me he was going to switch from PECO to NRG to get a better rate, but he was not planning on choosing the 100% wind power option.

Oh, we have solar on our roof now. Your landlord should put solar on their roof or your roof.

Yesterday I tried Beyond Meat brand sausage brats. Pretty darn good for a meat substitute!

One gains awareness that there are other things which help you directly or indirectly. You start appreciating them and in turn start taking care of them.

A friend told me about the concept of "naked" produce shopping. That's when you don't take the store's plastic produce bags. However, if I buy a half-dozen apples I want to make sure they're not rolling off the check-out conveyor, so I plan on shepherding them in the cloth mesh bags I recently purchased.

Today I received organic cotton mesh bags in the mail that I ordered online for shopping for "naked" produce. This wil allow me to purchase fruits and veggies and forgo the plastic produce bags from the grocery store.

    Waste Find Local Recycling Depots
Our ability to recycle certain things ebbs and flows based upon many factors. Luckily there are places that accept uncommon things to recycle or dispose of in a less harmful way. What did you find when looking for places to recycle items that can't be recycled in your curbside bin?

Omg! I could recycle pretty much everything I use, including my clif bar wrappers to candy wrappers. It is just a shame it can cost so much I feel it also takes so much time to sort out and you have to be mindful.

I will have to look into though more because I am amazed at everything terracycle can do.

I really like the fact I can share my values with others and see what others are doing.
