BACK TO TEAM PAGE

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Reduce refined sugar
Before you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now?

I didn't think I was very addicted to sugar but after trying this I realize how hard it actually is. It is very hard to stay away from sugar
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Eliminate Toxic Plastics
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

Plastic bags I regularly use for grocery shopping. I could start buying reusable bags to use at the grocery store rather than plastic bags
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Healthy Sleep
Consider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?

I would like to go to bed earlier to I can sleep a little bit longer and stay away from staying up late because it then messes up your sleep patterns. Going to bed earlier and staying on that sleep schedule works
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Whole Foods Diet
Michael Pollan states that “it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor.” What are your thoughts on this idea?

To me it seems like they mean eating healthy keeps you away from the doctor so eat food you know is healthy so you do not have to go to the doctor
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Reduce Animal Products
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?

Because meat is expensive so richer people tend to buy it. Poorer people eat things that are cheaper like fruits and vegetables. Eating meat affects people and our environment in a negative way

I’m happy for my family, that I am able to go to college, and that I have food everyday.

When the farmers market is going me and my mom go every Saturday. Every time we go we get all of our produce and we get honey from there along with a pastry or to. I love being able to get my produce from local farmers markets because the farmers put all of their produce on there truck and drive down to the farmers market. They usually have picked those plants that week so I know that its not just sitting in a war house somewhere waiting to be picked up by trucks and shipped out across the world. The farmers market is different they come right from where the product was picked and its just one short car ride away. Some of my favorite things to get at the farmers market is kale, corn, herbs, and my all time favorites is asian pears and the Calhoun county peaches.

Instead of grabbing a water bottle, I just refilled my TAL water bottle.
