REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Launch a Recycling ProgramHow might thinking creatively help us address big systems problems differently?
Tony Lamb 10/23/2019 2:23 PMRather than launching a recycling program, I am going to work on launching a composting program at my new apartment complex. It's something I noticed we don't have and I would really like one. Also, it would save me from having to find nearby homeowners to ask if I can use their compost bin! -

REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Support Businesses Owned by People of ColorKeen Independent Research Foundation conducted a recent study that highlights the disparities in the availability of city contracts and loans to businesses, and how this disparity correlates to owners as people of color. The study showed that Minority businesses enterprises (MBEs) are more likely to have difficulties in receiving loans or city contracts. In what ways can you address systemic racism like that demonstrated in this study?
Tony Lamb 10/21/2019 11:39 AMI just moved into a new neighborhood and am excited to start finding all the businesses owned by POC. -

Tony Lamb 10/14/2019 6:57 AMCurrently, there are some investments in my portfolio that do not align with my values. I'm honestly not 100% sure how to change this other than using a complete social investment strategy as I now have a few index funds comprised of many companies. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Buy Used ClothesDo people with economic privilege have a responsibility to consume and own less? How can the concept of "reduce" be presented to those who may be struggling to have enough food, clothes, shelter?
Tony Lamb 10/07/2019 8:58 AMRead an article on Friday in the Wall Street Journal about H&M developing technology to recycle used garments. It was nice to see that a fast fashion retailer is working to curb its impact on the environment. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Needs Vs. WantsHow is creativity necessary for practicing simplicity?
Tony Lamb 10/02/2019 4:48 PMThis one is going to be hard when it comes to books. I really love to read and should work to rent books from the library rather than buy them from Amazon or Powell's.-
Julia Gisler 10/09/2019 12:13 PMI know me too- I love books- and justify supporting a local business when I buy from Powells
