Food sovereignty addresses the local need for people to be in control of what their food choices are, much related to food security. this is complex because where people live (ecosystems) are vastly different therefore producing and cultivation of foods are different. Poorer communities tend to dwell in urban like settings and are unavailable to the access of fresh fruits and vegetables. Modern food systems must try and fix this scarcity of fresh foods in theses areas. An option maybe something like vertical farming  or urbanized farming!

In poorer countries it more common to stick to eating things that can be grown in copious amounts like wheat or rice.  This helps them gain more product for their dollar.  Meanwhile, in richer countries animals are bread in order to to be eaten.
