Another successful EcoChallenge.  I have participated for 4 years now, and am very proud to be a part of making a difference in what small way I can.  It is the daily little things that can make a big difference.

Being one day in nature on a weekly basis allows children to be more happy with what they have and be more creative. When they see how much can be done with just a stick or a bunch of leaves.

I love eating apples without being worried that I should peel them due to their preservative wax on their skin. So that is why I prefer to the apple picking and now I can enjoy every bit of it!!

    Waste Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

If I can carry the items easily in my hands or fit them in my handbag, I will; but do find myself asking for a bag. I have reusable bags that are small enough to fit in my handbag, so I can make checking that I have one in there before I leave a habit.

    Water 5-Minute Showers
Five minute showers are an impressive step toward reducing your water footprint. What is the next step you can take?

Five minute showers are a great way to get your blood pumping first thing in the morning,,  I wish there was an easy way to capture the water that runs before you get into the shower.  In a prior challenge I used a bucket & watered my garden, but that was very cumbersome.

    Health Reduce refined sugar
Before you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now?

At one point in my life I do feel that I was addicted to sugar.  A year or so ago I worked hard to ‘kick the habit’ and I did really well, but had found more sweets creeping back in to my diet in the last few months. This challenge allowed me to return my focus to trying to reduce the sugar again.  Reducing sugar in my life helps my body to feel better.
