REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Audit Toxic Cleaning Products in my HomeTo what extent do you believe that environmental factors contribute to your own health or issues with health?
- - 10/23/2019 7:41 PMEnvironmental factors have a huge effect on health. As a child, I lived in the suburbs near an airport and my neighborhood was under one of the flight paths. A significant number of the children in my neighborhood, myself included, developed asthma because of the exposure to the jet fuel residue. It was only after moving to a rural area that had significantly less air pollution that my asthma mostly went away. There are a lot of things polluting our air and our water that we are not aware of, and they can have great impacts on our health. -

-
- - 10/22/2019 8:28 AMThis EcoChallenge has been really beneficial in encouraging me to be more mindful of how my actions impact the environment. By making the effort to remember to use reusable products rather than single-use plastics I can minimize my personal environmental impact. Spending more time outside and getting more rest also helps me to feel more connected to and present in my city. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Limit Social MediaSocial media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also take more time than we realize or intend to give. After doing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?
- - 10/18/2019 9:13 AMReducing social media usage allows me to focus more on friendships with people I see in person rather than just superficially keeping in touch with people I used to see more often. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Healthy SleepConsider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?
- - 10/18/2019 9:11 AMI would like to shift my sleep patterns to wake up earlier and go to bed earlier. It helps to not sleep in too much on the weekends so that my sleep schedule doesn't vary greatly between the weekdays and weekends.-
Addy Davidson 10/18/2019 9:13 AMI'm so bad at this. Can I pay someone to sleep for me? It seems to be a skill I cannot acquire.

REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Power Down the ComputerWhat are other easy things you could do to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint?
- - 10/18/2019 9:10 AMSome other easy things I can do to save energy are turning off lights when they aren't necessary and opening my apartment's windows rather than using the AC. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Go PaperlessReducing your paper mail can be such a freeing action to take -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?
- - 10/11/2019 5:17 AMReducing the amount of mail I receive feels freeing because there's less for me to sort through and to decide what to throw away. Another step I could take to reduce my waste is to stop using paper napkins and paper towels at home. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Choose a Carbon OffsetA round-trip flight from New York City to Los Angeles emits just over 1.5 tons of CO2—per person. That’s a lot of carbon! What can you do to reduce the number of flights you take per year?
- - 10/10/2019 11:34 AMTo reduce the number of flights I take per year, I can Skype into meetings and travel by car for vacations when possible. When I can't avoid flying, I can purchase carbon offsets. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Go for a Daily WalkHow do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?
- - 10/08/2019 6:54 AMWhen walking through a city rather than driving, you have much more time to notice details in the architecture and to appreciate the beauty of the city. Walking also provides more of an opportunity to interact with your surroundings since you can easily duck into shops and down pathways to explore the area.-
