Robin's actions
Simplicity
Meditate
I will meditate or create a moment of silence for 5 minute(s) each day to reflect on things important to me.
High Impact Action Track
Reduce Single-Use Disposables
Waste
Historically, marginalized and low-income communities live closer to landfills, contributing to a multitude of health problems. I will find out how I can limit single-use items and do my best to limit the waste I generate.
Energy
Power Down the Computer
I will power down my computer and monitor when not using it for more than 2 hours, saving up to (1.1) lbs of CO2 each day that I do this.
Health
Exercise Daily
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 30 minute(s) each day.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Robin Poppino-Kuntz 10/23/2019 8:17 PMThis Ecochallenge was fun and beneficial. I'm going to try to continue the actions I chose. -
Robin Poppino-Kuntz 10/20/2019 7:00 AMWhen we got coffee to go a couple days ago, I remembered to bring in my reusable cup. It was the first time, but won't be the last. Hopefully, it will be the first of many.-
Dianne Riley 10/21/2019 8:07 AMThat's inspiring! Its a great feeling when you break new ground and move in the direction of creating a positive habit.

Robin Poppino-Kuntz 10/16/2019 6:49 PMMy sister is part of the work group. She was talking about it and the challenge sounded interesting. We all need to focus more on the environment (in many definitions of the word) and when she said we could participate, I wanted to do it. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity MeditateWhat would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?
Robin Poppino-Kuntz 10/16/2019 6:47 PMI'd like to reflect more on gratitude for all the wonderful things in my life.-
Teri Poppino 10/21/2019 6:18 PMLike your little sister...

Robin Poppino-Kuntz 10/16/2019 7:42 AMIt's nice to resume meditation.-
Teri Poppino 10/16/2019 10:02 AMIt's been ages for me--actual meditation, anyway. That's on my to-do list for retirement. That list is getting longer!

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Exercise DailyHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
Robin Poppino-Kuntz 10/15/2019 2:36 PMI have an old friend who I walk with most Sunday mornings. There are other people I could also invite for different times, which would be fun, too. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHigh Impact Action Track Reduce Single-Use DisposablesBringing your own bags and containers to the grocery store, and even to restaurants for leftovers, are a couple of ways to reduce your waste. What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Robin Poppino-Kuntz 10/14/2019 4:07 PMI go to a coffee shop infrequently, but I want to remember to bring my own cup for the coffee. I've been keeping some of the plastic produce bags the supermarkets use in my purse and have been remembering to use them instead of new ones. Once those wear out I'll have to find better substitutes. I did see something about cotton mesh ones.-
Teri Poppino 10/14/2019 7:11 PMI saw some mesh produce bags that looked interesting. Can't remember where, though. If I come across them, I'll let you know. Welcome to the team!
