REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?
Kristianne Pidlaoan 10/09/2019 8:59 AMI find that I often forget to bring reusable bags with me so I think loading them back into the car immediately after I use them or making sure to always have one pre-loaded into the car before I even need it is what works for me to successfully avoid plastic bags. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Whole Foods DietMichael Pollan states that “it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor.” What are your thoughts on this idea?
Kristianne Pidlaoan 10/04/2019 8:31 AMThis is true. I have never gotten better nutrition than when I started paying attention to the food I consumed. I get a blood test every 6 months to a year to ensure that I am getting proper vitamins and nutrition. My blood pressure is also ideal after reducing processed foods and eating more whole foods plant based foods. One good source for this is How Not to Die by Dr. Gregor. I am in the middle of this book and it has been a big help!
