Trevor's actions
Food
Reduce Animal Products
I will enjoy 2 meatless meal(s) and/or 2 vegan meal(s) each day this week.
Waste
Recycle Everything I Can
Contamination prevents what is recyclable from being recycled. I will research and recycle all materials that are accepted by local haulers or drop stations in my community, making sure to not contaminate recyclables with non-recyclables.
Transportation
Go by Bike
I will commute by bike 10 mile(s) each day and avoid sending up to 11.99 lbs of CO2 into Earth's atmosphere.
Waste
Use Reusable Bags
I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases.
Waste
Choose Two-Sided Printing
I will save up to .21 lbs (.09 kg) of paper each day by switching from one-sided printing to two-sided.
Participant Feed

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?
Trevor Mull 10/21/2019 2:12 PMIf I found myself in a situation where I didn't have a reusable bag at the store, first thing I would do is see if they had any for sale. If not, I would most likely resort to just carrying my items home with me. I normally always bring my reusables with me not only to better impact the environment, but because I have to walk a few blocks with my groceries. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Choose Two-Sided PrintingChoosing two-sided printing can be an easy adjustment on your computer settings. How can you help others make this same switch? Can it be encouraged company wide?
Trevor Mull 10/21/2019 2:07 PMI would just say making the default setting double sided. On most computers especially in the library at DePaul, the print settings are set to single sided. Just messing around with these settings at a company level can have serious impacts on the amount of paper we could save. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
Trevor Mull 10/10/2019 10:20 AMI think what it comes down to is the accessibility to the product. Richer countries like the United States, have the ability to produce large amounts of a given product, often times ended up being wasted. As we produce more meat, we are using a lot more energy and natural resources which ultimately depletes the planet as a whole.-
Barbara Willard 10/12/2019 9:42 AMGood point Trevor. We have such an abundance of goods in this country, including inexpensive food. I would hate for us to have too little but we could certainly have less food around here.

REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Go by BikeHow do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience differ while walking, riding transit, biking, or driving?
Trevor Mull 10/10/2019 10:15 AMFrom riding my bike everyday, I definitely gain a sense of character for the community. As I ride to different locations I'm able to observe the different types of cultures in the diverse city of Chicago, and the character that comes with it. Not only am I reducing my carbon footprint but I get to experience the urban life from a unique perspective.-
Hector Cervantes 10/11/2019 6:04 PMWell done Trevor! I also love biking and not only are you reducing your carbon footprint, you are also getting a good workout in. Way to go!
