Tammy's actions
Simplicity
Meditate
I will meditate or create a moment of silence for 15 minute(s) each day to reflect on things important to me.
Transportation
Work from Home
I will work from home 1 day(s) to avoid my commute's carbon output.
Water
Say No to Plastic Straws
An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 3 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.
Simplicity
Go for a Daily Walk
I will take a walk for 15 minutes each day.
Energy
Upgrade My Windows
I will upgrade the windows or weatherstripping in my home or office to reduce air leaks and save on energy costs.
Energy
Switch to Cold Water
I will switch to washing my clothes in cold water, saving up to 1,600 lbs of CO2 over the course of the next year.
Simplicity
De-Clutter My Home
I will de-clutter, clean, and donate or recycle unneeded items in my home.
Energy
Choose LED Bulbs
I will replace 4 incandescent lightbulb(s) with Energy Star-certified LED bulbs, saving up to $14 per fixture per year.
Simplicity
Needs Vs. Wants
I will adopt a "Needs Vs. Wants" approach and only buy things I need.
Water
Insulate Water Pipes and Water Heater
I will avoid wasting water while waiting for the shower or sink to heat up.

REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityFresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?
Tammy McKay 10/23/2019 6:12 AMTaking walks during the day affects my well being for many reasons. I am able to put lists in order in my head, think through how I may approach a situation, and I may see a co-worker on my route that I haven't been able to catch up with. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityHow can you prevent yourself from accumulating more things in the future?
Tammy McKay 10/23/2019 6:08 AMContinuing to ask myself is this thing I must buy is a need or a want. I'm trying to be more diligent that if it's a want, then something must leave the house to make room for the new item.
