It refocuses me to think about things that are truly important and meaningful vs my energy being wasted on things that are frustrating in the moment.

I try to give something away before I acquire a new item. The Buy Nothing groups and Tool/Seed libraries are also great resources for finding items to borrow for temporary use so there's no need to own it.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
In North America, up to 65% of food waste happens at the consumer level. Chef Steven Satterfield advocates for utilizing every part of a vegetable. How can you incorporate using an entire vegetable, including the skins, tops, and stalks during your next meal prep?

I save skins, tops, and stalks in a container in the freezer until there is enough to make a batch of veggie stock.

Some tops, like carrot greens, make great additions to pesto blends too!
