Taylor's actions
Water
Install a Low-Flow Showerhead
I will save up to 15 gallons (56 L) of water a day by installing a low-flow showerhead.
High Impact Action Track
Ditch the Lawn
Water
I will replace my lawn with a drought-tolerant landscape and save the water, money, and time I used to spend cutting the grass.
Waste
Carry my Trash
I will carry all of my unrecyclable, non-compostable trash with me to raise my awareness of how much I send to the landfill.
Health
Exercise Daily
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 30 minute(s) each day.
Transportation
Go by Bike
I will commute by bike 6 mile(s) each day and avoid sending up to 4.75 lbs of CO2 into Earth's atmosphere.
Food
Reduce Animal Products
I will enjoy 3 meatless meal(s) and/or 1 vegan meal(s) each day this week.
Nature
Support Local Pollinators
At least 30% of crops and 90% of flowering plants rely on pollinators to produce fruit. I will spend 30 minutes researching which plants support local native pollinators and plant some in my yard.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Exercise DailyHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
Taylor Hescock 10/10/2019 4:26 AMTake a walk on a greenway or around the neighborhood with a friend/SO/dog. Exercise with your friends/family (e.g. My cousin and I both climb/boulder, instead of going alone we try to go at the same time). -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHigh Impact Action Track Ditch the LawnWhat is the main water source in your region?
Taylor Hescock 10/09/2019 1:21 PMIn Raleigh, most drinking water comes from the Falls Lake Reservoir. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Support Local PollinatorsWhy is it important to take care of pollinators?
Taylor Hescock 10/08/2019 10:20 AMWithout pollinators we will lose many crops as well as plants that support other animals. I am not sure if it would be possible to survive without pollinators-
Julie Hyde 10/09/2019 11:32 AMOur vegetation management team is doing fantastic work managing growth beneath our transmission easements and vacant land to attract pollinators. I'm excited to hear them share their messaging at one of our upcoming S Corps Webinars.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Say No to Plastic StrawsWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Taylor Hescock 10/08/2019 10:17 AMI am pretty good about not using single-use items, I tend to fail when I am in a rush and don't plan ahead.
