REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Use Public TransitThe US spends roughly 20% of its federal budget on defense. In contrast, 2% goes to education, 20% goes to social security and 3% goes to transportation infrastructure. Do these numbers surprise you at all? Why or why not? How would you adjust them if you could?
Veronica Beaupre 10/01/2019 12:42 PMThis isn't surprising. I know we spend an astronomical amount of money on military personnel, infrastructure, and weaponry. I would love to see less money invested in defense and more invested in education and transportation and those "at home" services for civilians. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHigh Impact Action Track Research Impact InvestingHow might impact investing help you better live your values?
Veronica Beaupre 10/01/2019 5:31 AMImpact investing is good because - unlike normal investing - you can be confident that the company/asset you are essentially loaning your money to is behaving in a way that is ethical and producing a better society for all. This is something that I know I highly value when thinking about investing. I don't want to make money off of a company that is exploiting others.
