Show them how easy it can be and how simple we can make it! People struggle with putting in effort and if we can find he simple things to improve on it can get the ball rolling.

How does environmental quality influence your sense of community?

    Denielle Zambrowsky 10/22/2019 6:05 PM
When the quality of my environment is pleasant to be in, it makes me want to be there and be apart. Getting together with my friends to walk around and check out local shops and parks, brings us together and pushes us to do something other than our norm.

    Denielle Zambrowsky 10/22/2019 6:03 PM
I always take care of myself before bed every night, making sure I give myself some time each night to relax, wash my face, stretch and be kind to myself.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Learn About & Practice Sustainable Fashion
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

    Denielle Zambrowsky's avatar
    Denielle Zambrowsky 10/22/2019 6:02 PM
I frequently sell my clothes to send hand stores where I can use my credit to buy new clothes. I really like this way because you can find unique treasures and I can get rid of things I don't wear anymore!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Explore My Area
How can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place?

    Denielle Zambrowsky's avatar
    Denielle Zambrowsky 10/22/2019 6:00 PM
Spending more time outdoors allows you to see the little details. When you are in the car or any moving vehicle you have a barrier between you and the world around you. Physically being outside connects you to sounds and senses you can miss when you're traveling by car.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Transportation Learn More and Talk to My Friends
How has your access to various kinds of transportation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?

    Denielle Zambrowsky's avatar
    Denielle Zambrowsky 10/22/2019 5:59 PM
Since I've started talking with my friends we've opened the discussion up about transportation. It's frustrating in Seattle because yes there is public transportation but bus lines only get you so far and if they do get you there it takes about triple the amount of time due to the frequent stops and transfers you have to make. It's a hard balance and I wish it was more reasonable because then more people would opt for it.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Walk Instead
Half of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Do you feel that this fact applies to you? If so, how might you incorporate more muscle-powered transportation in your daily life?

    Denielle Zambrowsky 10/22/2019 5:57 PM
I love to bike, and fortunately I like only a couple miles from the grocery store. I also frequently walk with my roommate around the neighborhood to take her dog out. I really enjoy walking everywhere - I like to see different little details about my surroundings.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Limit Social Media
Social media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also take more time than we realize or intend to give. After doing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?

    Denielle Zambrowsky's avatar
    Denielle Zambrowsky 10/22/2019 5:55 PM
Social media is something I grew up having, and as it's become more popular I feel myself getting lost in it. I've been trying for a while to cut back on my time spent browsing and I've been feeling good. I feel like I'm more focused on what's happening now in front of me instead of my screen.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Healthy Sleep
Consider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?

    Denielle Zambrowsky 10/22/2019 5:53 PM
I would like to shift my sleep patterns to give them at least 8 hours of sleep a night. In college it was common for me to stay up late and get up early for class - it was difficult to keep up with as I've gotten older and I find I am much more efficient throughout the day when I get more sleep.
