It feels a bit lonely at the top ;-) come on guys! We need some action in this team!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Personal Waste Audit
Why is it so difficult to understand the impacts our purchases and waste have on other people, animals, and places? How might your experience with this challenge impact your future consumption and choices?

    Maren Tonnies 10/20/2019 11:22 PM
I should really think more about what I buy. Not just what kind of product, but mostly the amount. It is crazy if I calculate what I throw away every year. This is so not necessary and such a waste. It's also really expensive if you about it.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Learn About & Practice Sustainable Fashion
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

    Maren Tonnies's avatar
    Maren Tonnies 10/20/2019 11:20 PM
I chose to limit the amount of clothes I have and don't really follow every fashion trend. Luckily, the things I like are all items that are sort of timeless.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Go Paperless
Reducing your paper mail can be such a freeing action to take -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?

I will get a "nee-nee" sticker from city hall. I can easily avoid getting a lot of flyers, etc.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Watch a Documentary about Food Sovereignty
How does food sovereignty address the complex agrarian transition to modern food systems?

    Maren Tonnies's avatar
    Maren Tonnies 10/20/2019 11:14 PM
Food Sovereignty asserts that the people who produce, distribute, and consume food should control the mechanisms and policies of food production and distribution, rather than the corporations and market institutions they believe have come to dominate the global food system.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Choose Clean/Renewable Energy
How might you be able to get others involved in advocating for the shift to clean energy?

    Maren Tonnies's avatar
    Maren Tonnies 10/20/2019 11:13 PM
By talking about the extremely low costs of my supplier. Especially if you are "ZZP-er" then you can jump into an energy collective.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Choose LED Bulbs
Changing lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! In what other ways can you exercise your civic duty to protect the environment and reduce carbon emissions?

    Maren Tonnies's avatar
    Maren Tonnies 10/20/2019 11:11 PM
Choose the right energy supplier! If you get your power from Vattenfall (NL) then you will get a free LED lightbulb.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

    Maren Tonnies 10/20/2019 3:20 AM
I feel confident about where my money goes. By having a closer look at my investments, it would feel weird if I would judge others but not doing my part.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Research My Investment Portfolio
In what ways can you increase the positive impacts and decrease the negative impacts of your financial investments?

    Maren Tonnies's avatar
    Maren Tonnies 10/20/2019 3:19 AM
I try to only invest in organisations that focus on the future. It's really important to dive deeper into your investments.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

I think we underestimate in general what kind of impact it has. I was a bit shocked by finding out what kind of products I had in my house.
