High Impact Action Track Reduce Single-Use Disposables
Bringing your own bags and containers to the grocery store, and even to restaurants for leftovers, are a couple of ways to reduce your waste. What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

I wish this was a daily challenge because getting RID of plastic waste is really hard, even when you buy a lot of produce "naked" and try to be mindful about other containers.

A few things my kids started:
    • We take our own, clean containers to the Food Carts so no throw away.
    • We do meal planning and cook more at home
    • When we eat out, we eat there and bring our own containers for left overs
    • We have washable sandwich wraps, lunch food containers and always use our own water bottles
I'd LOVE to hear ideas from other to help here!
    GO ECO-PANTHERS!

    Nature Spend Time Outside
Rachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?

Today, it's a beautiful day so it's easy to be outside. This is a daily challenge because it takes more motivation to get outside when it's gray and rainy but once I'm out, I'm happy.

Let's support each other in being outside every day for our sanity and joy!!

Waste Learn About & Practice Sustainable Fashion
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

For years, I've cared about this topic and have watched as the quality of clothing in some brands that I used to like and buy GO DOWN. I find that I have to be very careful now about the clothes I buy because even after my gentle washing, bio-degradable detergent and hanging a lot of my clothes, they can wear out more QUICKLY :(

In my 2 entrepreneurship classes (that I teach), I have students working on this issue and seeking to start clothing lines that are higher quality, sourced from REAL  and/or REUSED products and that consider water quality, air quality, living wages for workers, etc... PCC students are AWESOME!
