Both systemic and personal sustainability are important! I will develop a plan with my medical professionals to achieve my best health and live my life to the fullest.
High Impact Action Track
Install Alternative Energy
Energy
I will install alternative energy systems, such as solar electric systems or solar water heaters.
Nature
Forage for My Food
I will use the 'Learn More' resources below to find where I can forage for my own food locally.
Nature
Explore My Area
I will explore at least one new hiking trail or nature walk in my area.
Nature
Join An Outdoor Project
I will join an outdoor restoration project in my community.

Nature
Plant Trees
I will plant 1 tree(s) in my community, public parks, or backyard.
Nature
Organize a Course
I will organize one of Ecochallenge.org's discussion courses, such as 'Reconnecting with Earth', with my family, friends, coworkers, or classmates.
Nature
Tend a Garden
I will tend to a garden each day, or work on starting one.
Nature
Keep a Nature Journal
I will journal each day about my experiences in nature.
High Impact Action Track
Stay on the Ground
Transportation
Instead of traveling by plane, I will find an alternative way to accomplish the goals of an upcoming trip (i.e. telepresence, vacation locally).
Waste
Choose Two-Sided Printing
I will save up to .21 lbs (.09 kg) of paper each day by switching from one-sided printing to two-sided.
Waste
Compost Food Waste
I will avoid sending up to .69 lbs (.31 kg) of food waste to the landfill each day by composting my food or learning how to.
Waste
Advocate For More Food Packaging Options
I will advocate for alternatives to single-use packaging at local grocery stores, markets, at work, or on campus.
Food
Choose Organic Ingredients
I will enjoy 2 meal(s) cooked with organic ingredients each day.

Neetha S 10/12/2019 8:56 AMCarrots were first grown in Asia, and they were not orange.Carrots contain antioxidants, which may protect against cancer. While they may not help you see in the dark, the vitamin A in carrots helps prevent vision loss.Carrots are available all year round and can be used in savory dishes, cakes, and juices.-
Shauna McKain-Storey 10/12/2019 9:47 AMI grew crazy carrots this year by just leaving them in the ground extra long. They were a rainbow carrot mix, and all of them, especially the white and purple ones came out looking like big ginseng roots or octopuses! Great fun, and delicious.
