REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Go for a Daily WalkHow do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?
Jill Piper 10/19/2019 2:45 AMWhen I walk, I see new things and connect more with nature. I notice and hear birds, as well as other wildlife. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Plant TreesHow is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?
Jill Piper 10/19/2019 2:43 AMTrees provide the air we breathe, keep nutrients in the soil and sediment out of our waterways. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Turn it offHow is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?
Jill Piper 10/19/2019 2:41 AMOur electricity is mostly hydro-powered. I recently attended a Dark Skies Foray in the Steens and learned about the importance of Dark Skies to aid all bats, perhaps 80% of mammals and many migrating birds. Bright lights at night have Actually increased crime in study areas, contrary to what we think. Warm LED lighting is better than bright bluer LEDs. Hoping the Steens study area becomes a Dark Skies registered place. -
