REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
The Mortenson Family 10/18/2019 6:55 AMWith the challenging year we've had this year, this one has been the most important challenge that I have been doing. Although I have not done this everyday, I know that I have a lot to be grateful for. The most important is my amazingly strong wife and hilarious and sweet daughter. The way she looks at life is beautiful and full of life, trying to figure out how everything works. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Eat MindfullyMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How do your eating experiences differ when practicing mindfulness?
The Mortenson Family 10/18/2019 6:51 AMThis is something that I find helpful to connect to my family. We do not have our phones at the dinner table and do not answer text messages nor do we answer phone calls. It has been an eye opening experience how addicted to my phone i once was. My battery life is lasting longer and I am living in the moment. Drinking all the experiences that a 2 year old has to offer. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Limit Social MediaSocial media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also take more time than we realize or intend to give. After doing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?
The Mortenson Family 10/07/2019 12:06 PMI found that I was on Social media quite a bit as of recent. I noticed this because of the difficult times we were experiencing and I used it as an escape, instead of dealing with our reality. Once I signed up for this challenge I began to notice that I wasn't living in the present. This will help me be with my family more.
