REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Spend Time OutsideRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?
Suzana Knezevic 10/17/2019 10:57 AMWe are part of nature and should connect with nature as much as we can. Walking, sitting under a tree, or just observing beautiful sky while driving home is quite relaxing. I try to spend as much time outdoors with my kids, so that all of us enjoy contact with nature and bonding with each other. I cannot imagine life indoors all the time. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity De-Clutter My HomeHow can you prevent yourself from accumulating more things in the future?
Suzana Knezevic 10/15/2019 1:42 PMI ask myself before buying something if I really need it, or I will consider throwing it away in a few month because it is just creating clutter in the house and I really don't need it. -
Suzana Knezevic 10/10/2019 8:26 AMThe biggest challenge is to change people's mentality and raising awareness. People often think, well, what can one person do, one little action has no impact, so they don't bother to take that little action. But if we consider how many billions of people live on this planet, if only every second person takes that little action every day, uses reusable bags, mugs, avoids zip-lock bags or plastic straws whenever possible, we would see a big difference in a few days, not to mention in the long run!-
Shelly Miyasato 10/10/2019 2:01 PMGreat post, Suzana.

Suzana Knezevic 10/10/2019 8:22 AMUsing my coffee mug at work and double-sided printing has become a norm for me. I also always use canvas bags for shopping. All this became a life style. I don't even consider acting otherwise. On the other hand, taking banana peel to compost bin at work is a challenge I want to turn into a norm in my life. I am doing fine so far! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Suzana Knezevic 10/10/2019 8:11 AMWhen we remind ourselves and focus on all the things/people we are grateful for, then we feel better and we act better to everyone around us. In this way, we fill the bucket to people around us, then, they feel better and they act better to people around them, and so on. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Choose Two-Sided PrintingChoosing two-sided printing can be an easy adjustment on your computer settings. How can you help others make this same switch? Can it be encouraged company wide?
Suzana Knezevic 10/02/2019 8:58 AMI think everyone in our department uses two-sided printing, as that is an easy way to reduce use of paper. It might be a good idea to send a company-wide email with small suggestions such as reminding people to use two-sided printing. Sometimes people just need to be reminded! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?
Suzana Knezevic 10/02/2019 8:53 AMI always have canvas bags in my car, but if I forget to get one from the car and I have several items, I put in my little backpack whatever can fit in and carry the rest to my car or I just take the cart to my car and put my items in my canvas bags.
