  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Use Public Transit
The US spends roughly 20% of its federal budget on defense. In contrast, 2% goes to education, 20% goes to social security and 3% goes to transportation infrastructure. Do these numbers surprise you at all? Why or why not? How would you adjust them if you could?

I believe the answer is clear :-)   The situation is different for sure in Europe but even here, transportation infrastructure is yet to be much improved.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Work from Home
It takes the average worker in the United States 26 minutes to travel to work. One way to fix long commutes would be to make cities more affordable. An even simpler option: promote the use of telework. Are you in an industry that would allow you to work from home? What are some obstacles you might find yourself facing while working from home?

Working from home is quite common in many industries today. Potential obstacles are less socializing with colleagues, less opportunities to network and to discuss f2f with colleagues which is usually more productive than remotely. There should be a right mix between wfh and office days.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?

High mix of renewable energy such as wind, solar etc. No nuclear power plants. Need more attractive conditions / public programs to support renewable energy solution at private homes, e.g. solar panels on the roof.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
