Ankita's actions
Waste
Use a Reusable Mug
I will avoid sending 5 disposable cup(s) to the landfill each day by using a reusable mug.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 3 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Waste
Choose Two-Sided Printing
I will save up to .21 lbs (.09 kg) of paper each day by switching from one-sided printing to two-sided.
Waste
Use Reusable Bags
I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases.
Waste
Use a Reusable Water Bottle
I will keep 3 disposable plastic bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable Water BottleWhile water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?
Ankita Gupta 10/21/2019 7:35 PMThe ease of availability and price makes people lazy to carry their own reusable bottles when they are heading out. Again it needs to be started some day and then slowly it becomes a habit. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?
Ankita Gupta 10/21/2019 7:33 PMI keep one reusable bag each in my vehicles. By chance I go to the nearby store without carrying one, then if the stuff is less, I prefer to carry them in my hand and then take it to my vehicle or home directly. If they are more, I would rather buy another reusable bag. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable MugMaybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?
Ankita Gupta 10/21/2019 7:14 PMOne thing that stands on the way is to be able to regularly wash your mug. If one starts doing it first thing in the morning after coming to their desk, it can be converted to a habit. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Choose Two-Sided PrintingChoosing two-sided printing can be an easy adjustment on your computer settings. How can you help others make this same switch? Can it be encouraged company wide?
Ankita Gupta 10/21/2019 7:13 PMPeople need to be conscious about what are they printing and if they have any pages which are not required to print, also they can choose 2 sided printing
