High Impact Action Track
Learn About Local Environmental Justice Concerns
Health
I will spend 30 minutes researching environmental justice concerns in my region, their causes, and local initiatives to address these concerns.
Health
Exercise Daily
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 30 minute(s) each day.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Nature
Practice Gratitude for Earth
I will spend 5 minute(s) each day outside, practicing gratitude (prayer, meditation, journaling, etc.) for Earth and the nature surrounding me.
Create Your Own Action
Evaluate the solar option for my home
Attend a solar power hour and do the follow-up work with straight up solar to evaluate whether my home is a good fit for a solar installation. I would like to support a clean energy option for part of my home's energy needs and st. Louis is currently in a group-buy option which I see as a win-win!
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONHigh Impact Action Track Learn About Local Environmental Justice ConcernsWho is most affected by environmental degration and/or environmental irresponsiblity in your community? How are they affected?
Cindy Gross 10/13/2019 5:05 PMUnfortunately, in my community, environmental degradation disproportionately endangers public health for people of color and low-income individuals. They have higher exposures to lead poisoning and mold, higher rates of asthma, exposure to air pollution and toxics associated with demolition of vacant properties and illegal trash dumping.
