Say No to Plastic Straws

An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 6 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.

Nature Go for a Daily Walk
How do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?

There are smaller details I miss just driving by. Things like the different foliage or flowers, animals or butterflies passing by. Its nice to enjoy the world fully.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

A barrier I would say with using a reusable water bottle is forgetting to rinse it out before I need to go, so grabbing a plastic bottle seems more convenient at the time. To make using my reusable bottle a permanent habit I should make it routine to rinse it every night before bed so its ready to go in the morning.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Water Say No to Plastic Straws
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

A single-use item I used regularly are the disposable cups for my morning cup of coffee in the office. For substitute, I will bring in my own reusable mug!
