    It's the last day of the sugar fast... and someone left a leftover chocolate birthday cake out in the common area. OMG so tempted. I will not go down like this! I'll have to be content with an apple instead...

    I'm embarrassed that I haven't completed all my challenges for even a single day so far, and we're already 2/3 of the way through. I still have not broken the sugar fast though, and it seems like going for a walk has been the hardest thing for me to accomplish.

    What would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?

    I think I should invest more time reflecting on how I can be a better husband, father, friend, coworker, etc. This is hard to do because it requires looking at one's shortcomings, and that's tough sometimes. So, I don't know if I can say I would like it, but I definitely ought to do it more!

    YAAAAASSSSSS! See, that's what I'm talking about, Fr. Berry! Sat out on the patio yesterday while the sun went down and my wife read our book aloud to me. I'd be hard pressed to think of a better way to spend an autumn evening--and all of it free (it was a library book, of course).

    I still haven't intentionally eaten any refined sugar, but I'm pretty sure there has been some kind of corn syrup or something in bread I've eaten. I also broke down today and bought some local apple butter at the farmer's market to put on oatmeal, pancakes, etc. I'm telling myself that it's just like really tasty apple sauce, and not a kind of refined sugar. (Technically it's *concentrated*, not refined!)

    Before you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now?

    This is already very hard. I've done this before, and I'm trying to do it all the way: no added sweeteners of any kind, and no foods that contain refined sugar at all. Sugar withdrawal is a real thing.
