Matt Duperon 10/23/2019 8:22 AMIt's the last day of the sugar fast... and someone left a leftover chocolate birthday cake out in the common area. OMG so tempted. I will not go down like this! I'll have to be content with an apple instead...-
Christian Reifsteck 10/24/2019 8:31 AMWow, Matt, that's dedication! Great job!

Matt Duperon 10/15/2019 9:29 AMI'm embarrassed that I haven't completed all my challenges for even a single day so far, and we're already 2/3 of the way through. I still have not broken the sugar fast though, and it seems like going for a walk has been the hardest thing for me to accomplish.-
Christian Reifsteck 10/16/2019 12:27 PMThe sugar fast is impressive, Matt. That's not easy to do.

REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity MeditateWhat would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?
Matt Duperon 10/11/2019 8:51 AMI think I should invest more time reflecting on how I can be a better husband, father, friend, coworker, etc. This is hard to do because it requires looking at one's shortcomings, and that's tough sometimes. So, I don't know if I can say I would like it, but I definitely ought to do it more! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Enjoy the Sunrise/SunsetFather Thomas Berry says, "...our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." Respond to Berry's assertion.
Matt Duperon 10/09/2019 1:18 PMYAAAAASSSSSS! See, that's what I'm talking about, Fr. Berry! Sat out on the patio yesterday while the sun went down and my wife read our book aloud to me. I'd be hard pressed to think of a better way to spend an autumn evening--and all of it free (it was a library book, of course). -
Matt Duperon 10/09/2019 8:39 AMI still haven't intentionally eaten any refined sugar, but I'm pretty sure there has been some kind of corn syrup or something in bread I've eaten. I also broke down today and bought some local apple butter at the farmer's market to put on oatmeal, pancakes, etc. I'm telling myself that it's just like really tasty apple sauce, and not a kind of refined sugar. (Technically it's *concentrated*, not refined!) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Reduce refined sugarBefore you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now?
Matt Duperon 10/02/2019 5:40 PMThis is already very hard. I've done this before, and I'm trying to do it all the way: no added sweeteners of any kind, and no foods that contain refined sugar at all. Sugar withdrawal is a real thing. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Go get a check upHow do you practice self care?
Matt Duperon 10/02/2019 7:20 AMFirst things first: made my annual physical appointment. Much easier than quitting sugar lololololol-
Christian Reifsteck 10/07/2019 8:30 AMYes, I needed to do this, too, Matt, so the Ecochallenge was great for a push to get it done.
