Nature Go for a Daily Walk
How do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?

I hear so many birds and see the colors of all the plants by me when I walk.  The bugs are fascinating, the coyote poo is hard to miss, and my heart is happier.

    Waste Choose Two-Sided Printing
Choosing two-sided printing can be an easy adjustment on your computer settings. How can you help others make this same switch? Can it be encouraged company wide?

I print two sided when possible but I use so much discarded one sided printed paper. I get a few funny looks for my recycled one sided printing yet a some look forward to what might be on the back.

    Waste Compost Food Waste
New to composting? Be sure to check out the action resource links to learn tips and more about it. As you transition from throwing food away to composting, what do you notice about how much you are tossing? How will you use your compost once it is ready?

I use my compost as starter for new raised beds and as a visual for my high schoolers within the volunteer program at work.

    Water Conserve Toilet Water
What would a sustainable water future in your region look like? What needs to change?

In this region, a sustainable water future would incorporate different techniques for water reclamation, with grey water systems near/at the front.  I feel there needs to be more research and action with grey water systems in a suburban setting.  Public ideas of personal water usage needs to undergo a major shift.  A large lush, green lawn in the desert is not sustainable!

This is a great challenge that compliments the Plastic Free July challenge!  Many of the actions available here are a continuation of July's challenges. This reinforcement helps me to make new ideas new habits.
    Thanks!
