Reduce Single-Use Disposables
Historically, marginalized and low-income communities live closer to landfills, contributing to a multitude of health problems. I will find out how I can limit single-use items and do my best to limit the waste I generate.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Macy Carter 10/22/2019 10:15 AMBy stating what I was grateful for, I was able to realize how lucky I was, making myself happier throughout the day. It kept me from complaining because I knew how lucky I was for what I did have and how much worse off I could be. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Reduce Single-Use DisposablesBringing your own bags and containers to the grocery store, and even to restaurants for leftovers, are a couple of ways to reduce your waste. What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Macy Carter 10/22/2019 10:03 AMInstead of using plastic bags at the grocery store, I kept reminding my mom to bring in the cloth bags wherever we went so that we could stop using so many plastic bags. The plastic straws, however, were very easy to eliminate since I don't use them on a regular basis anyway. -
Macy Carter 10/17/2019 4:10 PMI'll reduce the single use disposables that I use.-
Madison Cole 10/17/2019 4:49 PMI think your idea to reduce the single use of disposables that you use is a great idea. You will save our landfills from becoming overcrowded which will help prevent global warming and pollution. If you get rid of a single use of disposables a day that is seven a week which ends up making a huge difference.
