REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Explore My AreaHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Go PaperlessReducing your paper mail can be such a freeing action to take -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?
HILARIE BOWMAN 10/21/2019 3:48 AMI can start emptying some of my folders where I have kept paperwork. I will now go through my other files and recycle more of the paper there. Also I am going to buy a hot compost bin so I can put shredded paper in it and reduce waste even more.
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity MeditateWhat would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?
HILARIE BOWMAN 10/21/2019 3:16 AMrethinking my lifestyle to be more secure and less reliant on fossil fuels. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Watch a Documentary about Food SovereigntyHow does food sovereignty address the complex agrarian transition to modern food systems?
HILARIE BOWMAN 10/11/2019 2:18 PMFOOD SOVEREIGNTY puts the small farmers first and acknowledges that 70% of the world's food is produced in small farms. The movement wants these farmers to have a much bigger say in each country's food system. -
HILARIE BOWMAN 10/08/2019 3:06 PMWent to London today to join in with the XR action. Are there enough people in tewkesbury to form a group?-
HILARIE BOWMAN 10/12/2019 11:19 AMI have the date in my diary. There probably will be enough people taken from the audience, -
Cate Cody 10/12/2019 10:09 AMWe have them coming to speak in Tewkesbury on 6th November :)

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
HILARIE BOWMAN 10/07/2019 11:57 AMWE need to look carefully at how any meat we eat has been raised. Ask the butcher if the animal was grass fed throughout its lifetime. In the UK I don't think going fully vegan as a nation is necessarily the answer but having the majority of meals vegan is a good aim. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Choose LED BulbsChanging lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! In what other ways can you exercise your civic duty to protect the environment and reduce carbon emissions?
HILARIE BOWMAN 10/07/2019 11:54 AMThey weren't incandescent bulbs as those have been out of service for some years now in the UK but they were the fluorescent bulbs. The new LEDs use less electricity, come on immediately and are brighter. Unfortunately all 7 ceiling light bulbs are linked to one switch in our main room. However I am putting in several side lamps so that we only need to switch on a lamp near to where we are sitting. Leaving the full array for parties. -
HILARIE BOWMAN 10/03/2019 2:51 PMNeed some more team members -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Conserve Toilet WaterWhat would a sustainable water future in your region look like? What needs to change?
HILARIE BOWMAN 10/03/2019 2:51 PMIf we all had water meters in our houses instead of in a hole in the road then I think people would find it easier to save water because there would be more incentive. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Go for a Daily WalkHow do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?
HILARIE BOWMAN 10/03/2019 2:49 PMI found a lot of back alleys in Wolverton today as I was early for the Community Energy AGM.
