  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Skip the Straw
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?

I purchased a little pack of reusable utensils, straws and chop sticks that I keep in my purse so I never have a need for plastic utensils or straws.   I also keep a set in our car.  Whenever possible, I buy my kids' clothes used and my own as well.

How can you prevent yourself from accumulating more things in the future?

Thinking about needs vs. wants and adopting a one in, one out policy in our household.  Having extra, unnecessary stuff doesn't ever make you feel better!

How can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?

Whenever I can, I exercise in nature and incorporate time with friends.  Being active with friends is always my favorite way to connect!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Buy From a Farmers Market
What is one food choice that you make, or could make, that would do more good and less harm?

Buying as much local food as possible so our families' food isn't being shipped across the country unnecessarily.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Reduce Animal Products
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?

Agriculture has a very negative impact on the environment, which I don't think most people are aware of.  I truly believe that if people understood the impact from a health perspective and environmental perspective, they would stop and think about their meat consumption and ways to cut back.  Not to mention they'd save money!
