I really enjoyed this challenge.  I did not choose a lot of daily challenges and that helped keep me focused and on track.  I also enjoyed the links to articles - not having to search online for information was helpful.

To what extent do you believe that environmental factors contribute to your own health or issues with health?

Because I developed skin rashes, I started using plain body soap free of artificial scents.  It has worked and I'm slowly exchanging cleaning products around the home to be more eco friendly and better for our bodies.

Michael Pollan states that “it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor.” What are your thoughts on this idea?

I agree!  We should all be as healthy as we can be so our bodies are strong enough to fight off small illnesses.  I do believe that eating right gives our bodies the protection it needs to avoid the doctor.

I'm using this challenge to make me think about my daily consumption of goods.  I'd like to form habits to ditch one-time use products, lower my overall consumption of goods, and learn a little more about ways we can all be more conscious of our environment.

    Waste Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

I leave small cloth bags in my car, but if I forget I  usually try and carry items out in my purse or hands.  This has also helped me cut down on mindless purchases.

    Waste Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

I'm getting in to the habit of leaving a coffee mug at work and filling it with my travel mug from home each morning.
