    Waste Reduce Single-Use Disposables
Bringing your own bags and containers to the grocery store, and even to restaurants for leftovers, are a couple of ways to reduce your waste. What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

When I go to restaurants and take food to-go I use whatever contained thy bring me. I can start taking Tupperware with me and avoid the wasteful container.

I find it really hard to remember to check-in here every day because I do not feel like I am doing a challenge anymore. I feel like I have just altered my lifestyle and it is normal. I do not think of using reusable water bottles as "special" or "noteworthy" because through this process I have realized how late to the program I really was and that it is actually very rare to see people using disposable water bottles, especially at Wash U. I think that this challenge has just become natural for me and without second thought. As a result, I have been keeping up with my challenges every day but often forgetting to post and check-in.

    Water 5-Minute Showers
Five minute showers are an impressive step toward reducing your water footprint. What is the next step you can take?

I have not found this to be very difficult because I think prior I was just over 5 mins. I have realized that sitting in the shower and debating life is really useless and wastes lots of water. Therefore, I now am very efficient in the shower and really diligent about getting clean quickly and thoroughly.

The next step I will take will be to turn off the tap water while I brush my teeth instead of letting it run.

Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

I have actually had some difficulty with only using reusable plastic bottles. Over fall break, at home, I was constantly met with a difficult time for my mother constantly uses large 1 Liter disposable water bottles. She is very neurotic and thinks that filtered water is not "filtered" enough. As a result, there were constantly plastic water bottles around my home and I was often tempted to just pick one up.
