REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Install a Toilet Tank BankName some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?
Tom Yost 10/09/2019 11:33 AMI just replaced and old, leaky, water consuming toilet at my house. The toilet consumes 1.24 gallons per flush but I will reduce that even more with the toilet tank bank!

REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Go by BikeHow do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience differ while walking, riding transit, biking, or driving?
Tom Yost 10/07/2019 6:49 AMNow that it's cooling off, I can get to work without looking like I just jumped in a pool! #bikeMoore -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Locally-Sourced MealsIf you were to only eat what is in season locally, what would be the hardest food item for you to give up?
Tom Yost 10/04/2019 12:01 PMIts super easy cooking locally when you get all of your groceries from a CSA! Right now I have lots of tomatoes, kale, and summer squash and soon it'll be lots of potatoes and winter squash. The difficulty is giving up or using less non-local ingredients like avocados or olives. I can't give up mangos. Sorry. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Join a Local CSADependable fresh food, better prices (cutting out carbon-heavy supply chain and grocery stores), supporting local farmers and building resilient communities are just a few benefits of local food systems. Which of these benefits (or others not listed here) inspires you the most?
Tom Yost 10/02/2019 9:21 AMFist CSA haul this week! Everything is from 150 miles of Washington DC! And the meat is from Polyface Farms!

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Compost Food WasteNew to composting? Be sure to check out the action resource links to learn tips and more about it. As you transition from throwing food away to composting, what do you notice about how much you are tossing? How will you use your compost once it is ready?
Tom Yost 10/02/2019 9:15 AMI have been composting at home for years and we have been composting at our office for a few months now! Helps us think about how much and where we are discarding waste.
