Food
Buy From a Farmers Market
I will purchase produce and meat from a local farmers market or food co-op.
Energy
Choose LED Bulbs
I will replace 10 incandescent lightbulb(s) with Energy Star-certified LED bulbs, saving up to $14 per fixture per year.
Waste

REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Go for a Daily WalkFresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?
Mike Yates 10/23/2019 5:53 AMStarted by doing the walks after work - found it was sometimes difficult to get motivated after after a trying day. Switched to doing in the am before work. Was not pleased with getting up earlier to start but have found I have more energy at work now. -
Mike Yates 10/23/2019 5:45 AMToday is the last day. Thanks to all the organizers that kept giving out tips on how to gain points. We will finish in 4th place overall. Not bad. Hat's off to Narada and Julie for leading the way in points. Great job all. -
Mike Yates 10/22/2019 8:47 AMTwo more days - Remember that at midnight tomorrow night everything stops. We are still in 4th place. -
Mike Yates 10/21/2019 7:52 AMThree days left - Let's keep pushing to the finish. -
Mike Yates 10/20/2019 8:03 AMHappy Sunday to all. Have finished any one time challenges I could do. They limit you to 10 so one a day has used them up. Let's finish strong. -
Mike Yates 10/19/2019 2:58 PMLast week to get points. We are solidly in 4th place. Let's keep it. -
Mike Yates 10/18/2019 4:04 AMHappy Friday to all. Remember to check in over the weekend . -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Go PaperlessReducing your paper mail can be such a freeing action to take -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?
Mike Yates 10/17/2019 6:16 AMI went through and set up all my monthly accounts to paperless billing. The next step for me is to look at waste at work - two sided printing at all times. Only print what I need. -
Mike Yates 10/17/2019 6:12 AMHappy Thursday to all. With the change of weather it reminds me about energy saving ways to set up the Apartment. Different heat temperatures for day/night and when I am there versus away for example. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Support Local PollinatorsWhy is it important to take care of pollinators?
Mike Yates 10/15/2019 10:27 AMPollinators are what keep your plants and bushes thriving. Without them your gardens would not thrive. All the beautiful flowers would not be there to smell and pick to take home.
