    Waste Find Local Recycling Depots
    Our ability to recycle certain things ebbs and flows based upon many factors. Luckily there are places that accept uncommon things to recycle or dispose of in a less harmful way. What did you find when looking for places to recycle items that can't be recycled in your curbside bin?

    One of the large egg distributors in my area regularly donates to the local food pantry, but the donations are packaged as cases of 144 eggs instead of the usual dozen like in grocery stores, so it's difficult to distribute to individuals. I've started saving my leftover cardboard egg cartons to donate to the food pantry so they can get at least one more use before being recycled.

    Bringing your own bags and containers to the grocery store, and even to restaurants for leftovers, are a couple of ways to reduce your waste. What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

    I use reusable bags for most of my shopping, particularly grocery shopping. I'd like to start reducing the amount of plastic bags and packaging I bring home by bringing my own containers to package bulk items.
