Offered to lend my Hop pass to a new transit rider. Told her best routes to get downtown. She could use either the #20 or #19. Encouraged her to take the time on bus to relax, prepare mentally for your meeting and to appreciate not have to search for parking.

just wrote three things I'm thankful for and I'm noticing how calming that is when I'm done. A super good challenge for me and I've done it every day all week.

For lunch I stopped at a food cart that serves bowls. Had veggies but no meat. Ate a big salad for dinner last night.

How does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?

I learned at a very young age - seen here in the back right side that I wanted to work for a better world. I was in a Brownie (pre-Girl Scout) Club when I became self-aware to be of service to the people and things that would make a better world. Having started a gratitude journal is a calming period to become thankful and as a result think of activities that would encourage or help someone/something in the future.

What are the implications of access to nutritious food for a community?

typically located in low-income areas where people often do not own a car. ... Less disposable income combined with a lack of transportation typically leads to the purchase of fast foods and processed foods available at the corner store. Implications for nutritious food is that there will be healthier people. There is also the implicattion of less disease and obesity. Fast foods or convenience food is very high in salt, fat and sugar.

Community Support Businesses Owned by People of Color
Keen Independent Research Foundation conducted a recent study that highlights the disparities in the availability of city contracts and loans to businesses, and how this disparity correlates to owners as people of color. The study showed that Minority businesses enterprises (MBEs) are more likely to have difficulties in receiving loans or city contracts. In what ways can you address systemic racism like that demonstrated in this study?

Call out the systemic racism when you are aware of it. Help the affected party be successful despite what is occurring.
