Say No to Plastic Straws

An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 3 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.

I realized that as long as I'm mindful of my goals I'm able to complete them and understand my impact.

In your opinion, how do social inequalities diminish a strong sense of community?

Social inequalities can diminish a strong sense of community because of everyone's different class. Everyone lives their own lives. Some people just can't look past their class compared to the people around them and this can become a huge problem. I've seen this happen and it's very sad to think that people can be that shallow and not be open-minded.

I helped a woman with her new puppy on a 4-hour plane ride. Near the last 2 hours, the puppy became restless and I ended up putting the puppy to sleep by cradling and rubbing her head. While the dog was asleep I realized how rude people can be because the stuartist was giving the woman mean looks when the puppy was awake. This just shows how a simple act of kindness can go so far and mean so much.

I have a trip to go on over this coming week and I'm worried about the straw problem. My family loves to eat out and spend time together when we go to a restaurant or site seeing but with restaurants comes straws and now its second nature to take the straw and place it in my glass but I've learned to become more mindful about straws.

    Waste Choose Two-Sided Printing
Choosing two-sided printing can be an easy adjustment on your computer settings. How can you help others make this same switch? Can it be encouraged company wide?

I can help others to make the switch my explaining how much paper is being wasted when you only print with one side. I can also be encouraged by telling other people. Recently I've noticed that my peers are only changing what they do to make a small difference in the environment. By telling people about the small changes they're capable of doing/ adding to their routine they're able to make a dent that can grow as the days go by.
