Bringing your own bags and containers to the grocery store, and even to restaurants for leftovers, are a couple of ways to reduce your waste. What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

Single use items I use are plastic cutlery, straws & plastic bags. I have reduced straws & cutlery use by bring my own reusable bamboo utensils to work & by using a metal straw. I can reuse & recycle plastic bags I already have and take my own bag to the store to keep from collecting more plastic bags.

The implications of healthy food access for a community are better health; lowered risk of heart disease & diabetes. Staying healthy automatically lowers your carbon footprint. Other implications include cultural preservation and overall elevated well being of the community.

    Food Reduce Animal Products
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?

Perhaps those in richer countries eat more meat because they have more discretionary income to purchase expensive proteins. Eating more meat affects our planet by adding to emissions and deforestation crisis. It takes more water to produce & process meat than other food items. The cost benefit analysis of meat production and consumption puts short term goals & comfort before long tern sustainability.
