It's going well - this reminds me to be more mindful of environmental decisions - most which can be done on a daily basis!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Recycle Everything I Can
What have you learned about what is accepted by local haulers for recycling, what you can drop off or ship to certain places, and what is not recyclable in your area? What is the most difficult part of recycling for you?

My local recycle center accepts plastics ones and twos - not all plastic.  They also accept tin, aluminum, card board, paper, and clear glass. Keep in mind what they accept when you make purchases so you can avoid buying things in packaging that is non recyclable.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

The first option is don't use a bag it for things like fruit that already come in a bag. Then I would fit as much into a plastic bag as possible...I still need some of these for cat litter, so getting a disposable bag that I can reuse helps.  However in order to try to prevent forgetting them, I like to stock pile them in my car.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?
