REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Plant an Herb GardenConsider the ways you can garden: a plot of land? a patio container? hanging basket? windowsill gardens? What would work best for your living situation and lifestyle?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Go PaperlessReducing your paper mail can be such a freeing action to take -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?
bibi henna Soobadur 10/10/2019 6:12 AMI try to go paperless at work where not every order needs to be printed. Even if an order is printed, I try to use the double-sided option in order to reduce the use of paper.-
Katie Walker 10/11/2019 6:21 AMWay to go Henna! I'm trying this too!

REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Choose LED BulbsChanging lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! In what other ways can you exercise your civic duty to protect the environment and reduce carbon emissions?
bibi henna Soobadur 10/08/2019 7:45 AMWe replaced 12 bulbs to LED ones at home. I learnt that apart from being brighter, it converts 95% energy into light and only 5% wasted as heat.-
Katie Walker 10/09/2019 8:27 AMThat's amazing Henna!!!

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?
bibi henna Soobadur 10/07/2019 7:33 AMI have been using reusable bags for grocery shopping as it is environmentally friendly and you also save money as you refrain yourself from having to purchase plastic bags at the stores.-
Katie Walker 10/09/2019 8:27 AMYes! That 5 cents does add up!

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
bibi henna Soobadur 10/04/2019 7:11 AMI started my meatless meal yesterday where I have incorporated tons of vegetables together like butternut squash, eggplants grilled and seasoned and served with couscous. Loved it !-
Katie Walker 10/07/2019 5:57 AMSounds delicious Henna!

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Exercise DailyHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
bibi henna Soobadur 10/04/2019 7:05 AMI spared at least 15 mins to go for a walk with my husband in the evening and so far I am liking it.-
Katie Walker 10/07/2019 5:57 AMThat's so nice! I want to start doing this!

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable MugMaybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?
bibi henna Soobadur 10/02/2019 6:27 AMWe all received a great tumbler at work. This is a great way to start the Eco Challenge. This will limit me from wasting at least a cup per day at the coffee shop and will push me to think more about the environment. -
bibi henna Soobadur 10/01/2019 12:38 PMLooking forward to Oct 2nd. ;-)
