REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Zero-Waste CookingIn North America, up to 65% of food waste happens at the consumer level. Chef Steven Satterfield advocates for utilizing every part of a vegetable. How can you incorporate using an entire vegetable, including the skins, tops, and stalks during your next meal prep?
Loretta Sharbono 10/14/2019 5:56 AMI grew up with Zero Waste Cooking and somewhere along the way I lost that habit. Relearning the art of Zero Waste is rewarding. So glad to take on this challenge, even though I was sick for a week, finding that this doesn't have to be for only those days I am feeling my best. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Weekly Meal PlanningAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?
Loretta Sharbono 10/14/2019 5:42 AMMeal planning is one thing. Shopping for meal planning was fun. Getting sick at the start of my first week of Meal Planning and introducing zero waste cooking and a Paleo Vegetarian diet? That took all my stamina and tossed it. The struggle then became eating enough to keep hydrated without indulging in my tendency to eat anything carbohydrate. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Healthy SleepConsider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?
Loretta Sharbono 10/07/2019 5:17 AMWith school back in full swing, fairs coming and going, viral colds and flu are making themselves known in my home. Yay? So far I have managed 1 night of sleep that was 7 hours and the rest I have been up and tending my children. Yay that they shared with me? Definitely trying to get there!
