Create Your Own Action

Learn about climate change impact on coral reefs

I will spend one to two hours learning about climate change impact on coral reefs. The oceans are the heat sink of the world, they slow down the full effects of greenhouse gas warming of the atmosphere. Coral reefs are at the front line of being impacted by global warming and are currently one of the most threatened ecosystems on Earth.

This ecochallenge flew by! My small but impactful habit shift is keeping a reusable mug at my desk for coffee breaks. I've even carried it forward into the weekends, remembering to bring a cup with me more often than not!

Very inspired by this story - Market Street in San Francisco is going car-free!

Its been easy to spend time outside while the weather has been nice, but today is presenting a bit of a challenge with the rain. I'd probably skip it if it weren't for this challenge!

Sticking to the challenges over the weekend is harder to do (easy to forget!) I took my reusable cups out twice this weekend, opted to enjoy a coffee "for here" and asked for a metal fork at Starbucks instead of the plastic disposable ones.

Went to Stumptown for my Friday latte today, and realized I didn't have a mug! So, I just bought one at the shop. Maybe not the cheapest option, but now I have one to keep at the office for my midday coffee runs.

Day one! It's a beautiful day out, perfect for any of our outdoor challenges! My walk to work was great.
