REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow do environmental health, community health, and your personal health intersect?
Jessica Ruch 10/09/2019 9:13 AMA friend of mine has recently started a outdoor therapy program that utilizes forest bathing walks, something she has incorporated into an outdoor education curriculum for years. Another friend went along with one of her programs a few weeks ago and was reminded of how cathartic it could be. An excellent reminder that my home base in the city may not always be what I need to stay healthy. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Jessica Ruch 10/04/2019 9:28 AMIt helps me not focus on what I don't have and focus on taking care of what is already around me. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportationHalf of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Do you feel that this fact applies to you? If so, how might you incorporate more muscle-powered transportation in your daily life?
Jessica Ruch 10/04/2019 9:26 AMI am privileged enough to live close enough to work to walk everyday. It's a great way to wake up before coming in to the office. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodIt is often said that “you can’t feed the world with just organic food.” What is your response to that statement?
Jessica Ruch 10/04/2019 9:22 AMRedistribution of resources.-
Emily Volpert 10/04/2019 10:09 AMWho said that? You obviously can't feed the whole world with "just" anything. This reminds me of the question "How do you eat an elephant?" One bite at a time!

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
Jessica Ruch 10/04/2019 9:21 AMBy taking extra long walks with my dog.-
Emily Volpert 10/04/2019 10:10 AMI do the same thing as Jessica! When I know that my dog is having a great time, I am more motivated to keep walking.
