It isn't one of my goals, but I did advocate for not using dryer sheets.  I saw a commercial for MEGA dryer sheets--I couldn't believe it!  They actually put the regular ones and the MEGA ones side by side to show how much bigger.  All I could think was--BIGGER IMPACT!  Dryer sheets aren't even needed.  Through the FB discussion, I may have changed one person's habit.  She is going to try to do without.

    Love thinking about my actions!

    Waste Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

I didn't get to posting my daily accomplishment of this goal, but I wanted to share how great it was to use our expandable, reusable bag and when it didn't hold everything, choose to just leave some of the stuff UNBAGGED.  Can you imagine--UNBAGGED!!  :)   Seriously, there is so much stuff that doesn't need a bag.   The checker was pleasantly surprised and also commented on how cool our bag is.  I'll have to post a picture of the bag later when I have it in front of me.

I am terrible at remembering my reusable grocery bags but I often ask them to not bag the groceries in plastic and instead, I just put them back in the cart. It really isn't much of a hassle and saves 4-8 bags each trip to the grocery store.

    Food Whole Foods Diet
Michael Pollan states that “it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor.” What are your thoughts on this idea?

Easier than I thought now that I am making it a point to eat a good breakfast and cook good meals at home.

    Food Weekly Meal Planning
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?

We started meal planning for the week and buying what we need for those meals.  It is AMAZING how little we need to buy.  We usually go to the store and buy all the things we like and THINK we will eat, but in reality it is WAY TOO MUCH food.

Our planning doesn't always work out and we still end up with more than we need.  I'm working on freezing it for later use rather than leaving it in the fridge until it goes bad.
