Health
Reduce refined sugar
I will adopt a diet free of refined sugars, which eliminates sweetened beverages, candy, and processed foods.
Food
Weekly Meal Planning
I will reduce food waste and save money by prepping for 2 meal(s) each day, only buying the ingredients I need.
Health
Happiness
I will write down three things every day that I am grateful for, or send one email every day thanking or praising someone.
Transportation
Improve a Bus Stop
I will improve a bus stop in my neighborhood by posting the stop schedule, adding seating or shelter, adding art or flowers, picking up litter, or some other small improvement.
Health
Exercise Daily
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 60 minute(s) each day.
Simplicity
Research My Investment Portfolio
I will find out what stocks and bonds are in my investment account portfolio to determine if they align with my values (e.g. environmental, social responsibility, community).
Food
Plant an Herb Garden
I will plant an herb garden in my home, workplace, or dorm room.

Laurel Ritscher 10/01/2019 3:02 PMI just took the Carbon Footprint quiz and got this result?! It didn't even ask about cycling/walking or alternative living spaces.
Also if any of you use PGE, they do have an option to get all your power from solar/wind/geothermal sources, you can reduce costs (and impact!) with peak time notifications, and you can buy blocks of clean wind power for $2.50 per 250kwh! Great if you're trying to reduce your impact and have the spare cash. Our power usage and our home situation (sailboat!) made the most impact. But really, any sort of tiny home will do the trick. You don't actually have to live in a damp walk-in closet! 😜 -
Laurel Ritscher 9/23/2019 12:19 PMI don't own a car, only eat meat 1-2x/week, and live on a 30' sailboat. I take public transit and ride my bike exclusively, and do bodyweight fitness instead of going to a gym. I'm looking forward to this challenge, as the ones I have chosen are activities and behaviors that have been on my to-do list for a very long time now. Let's go team!
