Waste

Skip the Straw

Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

I have a 1gal reusable water jug that I attached a a stainless steel reusable pint to. My family also went away from buying single use bottled water to a 5 gal jug we fill our reusable bottles with.

The R's, Ricardo Rabago. Last week while on the road I was able to keep 10 straws out of the landfill by carrying two reusable straws with me, one for my iced coffee drinks and one for my sodas.

My wife and I made a deal that we are only allowed to buy "New" cloths from a thrift/second hand store.
