Water
Say No to Plastic Straws
An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 5 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.
Energy
Turn it off
I will keep lights, electronics, and appliances turned off when not using them.
Energy
Power Down the Computer
I will power down my computer and monitor when not using it for more than 2 hours, saving up to (1.1) lbs of CO2 each day that I do this.
Community
Volunteer in my Community
I will volunteer 1 hour(s) in my community during the challenge.
Transportation
Go by Bike
I will commute by bike 2 mile(s) each day and avoid sending up to 3.08 lbs of CO2 into Earth's atmosphere.

Charlotte Powell 10/16/2019 7:52 AMMy changes are going good. This week I volunteer at my church and I was helping the teacher help teach her classes. This weekend we did not use the car we used our bikes. It felt good to be in the freash air. I also liked that when we ride our bikes we are not wasting any car gas. This week my family and I did not use any plastic straws it was weird not drinking from a plastic straw for a little bit but it was work it.-
