An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 5 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.

My changes are going good. This week I volunteer at my church and I was helping the teacher help teach her classes. This weekend we did not use the car we used our bikes. It felt good to be in the freash air. I also liked that when we ride our bikes we are not wasting any car gas. This week my family and I did not use any plastic straws it was weird not drinking from a plastic straw for a little bit but it was work it.
