In an effort to reduce paper waste, I noticed at self check out at Harris Teeter, you can choose not to get a receipt before you put in your payment. Now if we could only do that for CVS and their 3 ft receipts.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

places of business should be more receptive to allowing people to carrying reusable bottles with them, such as movie theaters, concert venues
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Walk Instead
Half of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Do you feel that this fact applies to you? If so, how might you incorporate more muscle-powered transportation in your daily life?

those short trips for me are primarily comprised of running errands: grocery shopping, health appointments. i make a conscious effort to group my errands together, so i am able to to check off all those errands with one trip, rather than multiple trips, this reducing the car travel.

Have been researching ways to reduce my plastic consumption.  I found this cleaning product called Blueland which provides a glass bottle for the cleaner and refills in pod form. https://www.blueland.com/pages/how-it-works
