We generate reliable, affordable electricity from an increasingly cleaner mix of energy sources. Across our eight-state service territory, 38% of the electricity on our power grid in 2018 came from carbon-free sources: biomass, hydroelectric and nuclear plants, wind turbines and solar panels. The rest was generated by fossil fuels, including coal and natural gas.

Marianne Greco 10/17/2019 12:05 PMIn Connecticut, more than half of the state's electricity is produced from the state's largest-capacity power plant, the 2 gigawatt Millstone Nuclear Power Station. Natural gas provides over 30 percent of the state's supply and coal contributes 8 percent. Connecticut has no fossil fuel reserves.
